Life With A Senior Citizen...

Pops: You need to add some "regular" flour to that pancake batter to give them some substance.

Me: I don't want any "regular" flour in them - it's bad for you.

Pops: No it isn't.

Me: Yes is it.

Pops: No it isn't.

Me: Yes it is! They strip out all the nutrients!

Pops: They put them back!

Me: The 4 spray on "nutrients" they put on them don't make up for the 15 real nutrients they take out! And that doesn't even factor in the BLEACH they put on it to make it white!

Pops: Who's the nutritionist here?

Me: You went to college in the 1970's.... A lot has changed since then... Just sayin'...

  2. Hahaha, that is too funny. Oh different time. When gravy on everything was perfectly acceptable :) I bet ya'll are too funny together.
PS - thought of you last night as we watched the game. It was a good one, at least in the 3rd, but I hate they couldn't pull it out :(

  3. I love it... we all have those conversations with our parents...

But at the same time--- how frightening are the items we used to think acceptable for consumption/intake (SMOKING!!!!!)....

  4. Oh snap! Could you come talk to my mother please? She's with you on the flour thing, but the opinions from things she read 30-40 years ago could use some adjusting as well.

Visiting from FTLOB comment love :)

  8. Hilarious! This sounds like a conversation between me and my Dad. I've never thought about flour being unhealthy...they actually bleach it?! How dumb am I that I didn't know that? Wait, don't answer that...

  10. I kinda know how you feel. My grandma has been that way lately - a bit critical of almost every little thing and concerned for everyone's health. She's not a nutritionist but she is diabetic. Still, it gets frustrating.
